The Inland Track in the Abel Tasman National Park passes through regenerating and undisturbed forest, alive with tūī, bellbirds, and other wildlife.
From Bird's Clearing, where I lived for a time, the entrance lay just a ten-minute walk away. I returned to this track often, following the ridge down toward the Wainui River.
